Current Information & Plans:

The Human Cell Atlas is a well thought out idea that is backed up with an official White Paper, which shows the framework for the first draft of the atlas, introduction to the Data Coordination Platform that will host data for researchers around the world, descriptions of the technology and tools available to build the atlas, a more in depth look at the biological systems that will be explored and mapped, and finally, relationships to the public—which includes funding.

In order to make their goal a reality, they need an international community of hardworking biologists, clinicians, technologists, physicists, computational scientists, software engineers, and mathematicians.

There is no date set in stone yet for the commercial use of this technology, as it is a highly ambitious and tedious process.
